Using Blogtrottr with Dropbox

Here's a nice article on a-iKnowledge.com about using Blogtrottr with Dropbox for file change notifications in a shared environment.

  1. The fact that the dropbox feed is secure does not cause a problem?

    1. From what I can see, the Dropbox feed is provided with an authentication token in the URL, so no additional login step is needed and it works nicely with Blogtrottr.

      e.g. https://www.dropbox.com/12345678/87654321/(40 char auth token)/events.xml

Although as this means that anyone with the URL can see the contents of the feed, you probably wouldn't want to publish it.

There's no PuSH support on the Dropbox feeds, so updates would be at most once an hour.

  2. The Blogtrottr isn't delivering all the rss updates. Fox example a feed with 10 update, several times only 7 or 8 are sent.
